Senior Staff Analyst, Sourcing - Hybrid

Pay Rate Range: $55.18/hr. - $57.54/hr.

Location: San Jose, CA

Start/End Dates: 6/15/2026 - 6/14/2027

Job Description: Negotiates favorable terms, volume discounts and long-term contracts with suppliers and prepares and processes requisitions and purchase orders for the procurement of technical equipment, custom engineered products, systems, software or components. Acquires and maintains understanding of technology trends, market forces, cost trends and supplier technology road maps. Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy and discusses defects and delivery problems with suppliers and negotiates refunds.

This is a highly specialized individual contributor role that requires deep expertise from a professional / technical thought leader in their respective field or discipline. This position typically requires extensive experience in a specialized field and an advanced college degree or equivalent. The role requires expertise within a discipline in a specialized field. The job provides technical guidance and direction for his/ her area of specialization. The job requires good analytical skills as well as evaluative judgement based on the analysis of factual and qualitative information in complicated or novel situations. The complexity implied at this level of problem solving relates to the ability to filter, prioritize, analyze and validate potentially complex and dynamic material. This job typically requires a degree or equivalent and a minimum of 6 or more years experience.

- Lead data analysis for cost reduction & supplier performance improvements

o Analyze supplier performance details and trends

o Analyze internal and external cost details to identify opportunities and build strong data driven cases to support cost negotiations

o Create cost models for supplier price structures. Develop models detailing impact on variables to cost and profit including things on volume/spend growth and impact on material price changes

o Utilize AI in modeling and analysis

o Issue RFQs, facilitate & lead auctions, and generate should cost requests

o Analyze results from above and provide summary and recommendations to sourcing managers

o Develop negotiation fact sets and presentations to support supplier negotiations

o 70% current products, 30% NPI

Requirements

- The position must be located in San Jose, CA

- This position is intended to be pipeline for future opportunities with our client. Need to be able to step into the sourcing manager roles, and have interest in doing so

- Experience in supplier selection, performance management, cost models, presentations

- Skilled in data analysis and presentation of results. Comfortable with data ambiguity and developing clarity across disparate systems.

- Experience leveraging AI for this scope.

- Ability to handle a high number of concurrent tasks in parallel. Example being launching multiple RFQs and should costs, and during the response time working on other analyzes and projects.

- Effective communication skills - written, oral, and presentations. Able to tell a story from data and effectively communicate with visuals.
